Speaking to Pensions Expert, Singleton talks about some of the SPP’s work in engaging with the government on many areas of reform, from collective defined contribution to section 37, as well as major policy events such as the Pensions Investment Review.

The society has also campaigned to keep adequacy on the agenda amid fears that the government was delaying its work in this area, and Singleton says the SPP will be contributing to the Pensions Commission’s work in this area.

On top of this, Singleton also identifies equality, diversity and inclusion as an important area for the SPP and its members. The society plans to collate more data as well as explore inclusive working practices, as part of its ongoing efforts in this space.

Finally, the SPP president explains how the society helps with career development and brings more people into the world of pensions.

SPP highlights pensions industry apprenticeships as A-level results land

New research from the SPP has found that more than half (52%) of firms in the pensions sector offer some kind of apprenticeship programme.
