Fitzgerald will also join Nest’s trustee board, the master trust said in a press release.

Nest chief executive officer Ian Cornelius said Fitzgerald had added “immediate value” since taking on the role, including “bringing new ideas and a fresh perspective to financial management, relationship building, and navigating regulatory environments – key areas for the future of Nest”.

Fitzgerald added: “I am proud to join Nest as CFO and look forward to working with the team to help contribute to Nest’s continued success. I am excited to build further on the relationships I’ve made at Nest to help drive innovation and growth.”

Prior to joining Nest, Fitzgerald was CFO at British Arab Commercial Bank for three years, where she was also a trustee for its defined benefit pension scheme.

She has more than 25 years of experience in financial services, having previously worked in finance and treasury roles at investment and commercial banks including Daiwa Capital Markets, JP Morgan, Bear Stearns and Credit Suisse.

Nest has made several C-suite appointments in the past 12 months, including Femi Bamisaiye, who joined last month as chief technology and operating officer.

Last year, Camilla Egginton was promoted to chief strategy and transformation officer and April Clark was appointed chief people officer.
