The latest hires, promotions and appointments for the week ending 7 November 2025.

Local Pensions Partnership Investments (LPPI) has appointed a new direct infrastructure leadership team as it seeks to strengthen its capabilities in the asset class.
Jonathan Ord has been promoted to head of direct infrastructure, responsible for leading the investment team, while Daniel Hobson, formerly head of infrastructure asset management, will transition into a newly created role of head of origination and execution. Hobson will oversee origination activity and strengthen engagement with external partners, LPPI said in a statement.
Ord and Hobson also oversee the investment team at GLIL, the infrastructure specialist set up a decade ago by LPPI to invest on behalf of LGPS funds. GLIL has deployed more than £3.2bn over the past 10 years, acquiring 14 assets.
In addition, the LGPS pool has hired James Harraway as head of value creation. He joins from infrastructure investment group Infracapital, where he was managing director.

TPR hires for crucial admin and dashboards role

Meers joins Arc’s London office
Law firm Arc Pensions Law has appointed Richard Meers as a senior associate to the firm’s London office. He specialises in dispute resolution and joins from Pinsent Masons, where he worked for four years.
Meers’ arrival follows the appointments of Ian D’Costa and Salim Al-Sabah, who joined Arc Pensions Law last month.
Anna Copestake, managing partner at Arc, said Meers’ appointment “demonstrates our commitment to investing in our dispute resolution offering”.

BW strengthens Scottish actuarial team

Barnett Waddingham has appointed Andrew Simpson as a partner in its actuarial consulting team. He joins from Mercer, where he headed up the firm’s Edinburgh office and led on actuarial consulting, defined contribution, investment and strategy.
Simpson previously worked at KPMG, where he was deputy leader of its Scottish corporate consulting team.
In his new role, Barnett Waddingham said Simpson would focus on “driving innovation and delivering client-focused solutions across pensions consultancy”.
Ruth Thomas, partner and head of actuarial consulting at Barnett Waddingham, said: “I look forward to the impact Andrew will make as we shape the future of actuarial consulting and the wider pension consultancy business. Broadstone adds insurance NED
Consultancy group Broadstone announced this week that Karen Graves has joined its board as a non-executive director with effect from 1 November 2025.
Graves is an experienced director in the insurance market, having worked in the Lloyd’s and London insurance markets for more than 30 years, including as chief operating officer at SCOR.
Currently, she chairs the board of GreenKite, an insurance services firm, and is an independent non-executive director on the boards of USAA, Allied World Managing Agency, and Accelerant UK.
Broadstone CEO Tony Gusmao said: “Karen brings invaluable leadership experience in the insurance market at a time when we are looking to accelerate growth in this segment.”
