Hymans Robertson has appointed Sachin Patel as its new head of corporate defined benefit (DB). He is currently head of corporate DB endgame strategy for the consultancy, where he has worked since 2014.

Leonard Bowman, head of corporate consulting at Hymans, said Patel had played a key role in the company’s development and innovation.

In his new role, Bowman added, Patel would help corporate clients “navigate the array of opportunities available” and can “respond to, and benefit from, the evolving regulatory and policy landscape”.

Patel said: “The DB landscape has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years, with many schemes now in a significantly stronger funding position and able to explore strategic options that were previously out of reach.

“With the upcoming Pension Schemes Bill and the potential for substantial changes in the UK DB sector, it’s essential that the voices of all stakeholders, particularly corporates and individual members, remain central to the conversation.”
