The latest hires, promotions and appointments for the week ending 4 September 2026.
Consultancy group Cartwright Pension Trusts has hired Andrew Hunter to its Strategic Delivery Team as a project management specialist. In his new role, the company said Hunter would help to “support the effective delivery of pension projects and strategic initiatives”.
Julie Yates, director of administration at Cartwright, said derisking projects and other “strategic initiatives” were increasing the need for external support for trustee boards.
She added that Hunter had “significant experience of complex pension projects and buy-in and buyout transactions, as well as strong project management skills, and his appointment further strengthens the support we can provide to clients as their needs evolve”.
Hunter has 14 years’ experience in the UK pensions industry, including five years specialising in buy-in and buyout transactions.
Nicholls takes on CTO role at Mobius
Mobius, which provides investment back-office systems for pension schemes, has appointed Lee Nicholls as chief technology officer. It follows the proposed acquisition of the business by Motive Partners, which is subject to regulatory approval.
Nicholls joins from InvestCloud, a wealth management technology company, where he was also chief technology officer. He has also worked in senior roles at Merrill Lynch and Bank of America.

Apprentice duo starts at Sackers
Law firm Sackers has brought in two graduate solicitor apprentices, Charlotte Adams and Fraser Sutton. They are part of the Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship Programme operated by the University of Law. Adams and Sutton will qualify as solicitors through the Solicitors Qualifying Exams after two and a half years.
David Saunders, senior partner at Sackers, said: “The success of our first cohort [of apprentices], which completed last year, has reinforced the value of this route into the profession. Both graduates were offered permanent positions and remain with us as associates. We are very pleased to welcome Charlotte and Fraser, and we look forward to supporting them as they begin their own journeys with the firm.”
