She succeeds Sankar Mahalingham, who will take on the role of head of pensions growth, a newly created position. Winterfrost will hold the role for a two-year term.

In a statement, Law Debenture said the changes followed a “period of consolidation” for the company, adding that it was now aiming for “ambitious growth and operational excellence”.

Winterfrost has worked at Law Debenture for more than five years, having joined in September 2020 from Aberdeen. She is also a previous chair of CFA Society UK. In her new role, the company said, Winterfrost would “oversee people leadership and service excellence”.

As head of pensions growth, Mahalingham will focus on business development and client relationships.

Meanwhile, Jane Beverley, currently head of trusteeship, is to transition to a senior director role. Her responsibilities will transfer to Winterfrost over the next few months, while Beverley will focus on client work.

The appointments come after Law Debenture expanded its leadership team for the pensions business, bringing in Lily Lovegrove as pensions HR business partner and Natalie Cannon as operations partner.

Denis Jackson, CEO of Law Debenture, said: “These changes to our pensions division create a robust, scalable infrastructure and will ultimately benefit our clients and scheme members.

“We are perfectly positioned to deliver both the operational rigour and the strategic growth our clients expect over the coming years, further cementing our position as a leading independent professional services provider.”
