The BBC Pension Scheme has announced Anthony Reuben as a new member-nominated trustee director following an election.
Reuben will help oversee the £13.8bn pension fund, which has more than 50,000 members. He will take up his new role from 1 May 2026 and will serve a six-year term.
Reuben has worked for the BBC for 24 years and is currently a fact checker for the corporation’s Verify service. He will join the trustee board alongside 11 other directors.
His appointment follows that of Richard Collings, who started his term as a pensioner trustee director on 1 January 2026.

Administration provider Aptia has appointed Steve Deverell-Smith as head of client consulting as it continues to expand its service provision following its acquisition of Atkin Pensions in November.
Deverell-Smith joins from Law Debenture, where he was a professional trustee. He has also worked at First Actuarial as head of corporate actuarial services, as well as at WTW and Barnett Waddingham.
In a press release, Aptia said Deverell-Smith would work closely with Stuart Heatley, who was appointed consulting leader last month, to oversee the company’s consulting and actuarial services offering.

Dalriada Trustees has hired Mandy Kaur-Sadler as a trustee director from rival professional trustee firm Vidett.

Charles Ward, managing director at Dalriada, said: “Mandy’s experience, credibility and sector insight make her an outstanding addition to our senior team. Her expertise across public, education and regulated markets will be instrumental in strengthening our market position and driving the strategic growth of our non-executive trustee business.”

Cresswell takes on key governance role at BW

Barnett Waddingham has named Lucy Cresswell as its new head of pensions governance and secretariat. She has worked at Barnett Waddingham since 2019 as a senior consultant. She has also previously worked at Mercer and Xafinity (now XPS).
In her new role, Barnett Waddingham said Cresswell would play a “central role in developing and delivering… governance consulting services to pension schemes” amid scrutiny of trusteeship and governance from the Pensions Regulator and the Department for Work and Pensions.
Paul Jayson, partner and head of board management services, said the consultancy wanted to ensure its pension scheme services “continue to be dedicated and market leading, to protect the futures of scheme members through independent and creative solutions”.
Cresswell added: “Good governance is critical to successful outcomes for pension scheme members and my focus will be on continuing to develop our market-leading consulting services… We have a fantastic team who are passionate about building strong relationships with clients, and I will continue to drive forward our innovative client-focused approach.”
