On the go: The Money and Pensions Service launched a recruitment drive on Thursday for members of a steering group for the pensions dashboard, as the project inches closer to fruition.
The steering group of the dashboards Industry Delivery Group, which will provide strategic direction for the dashboards project, will be made up of 12 people, including the steering group chair and IDG implementation director, Angela Pober. The posts are voluntary but reasonable expenses will be paid.
Candidates for the posts must have expertise in areas such as consumer advocacy, pensions provision and information, public service delivery, disruptive technology, big data or GDPR. They will require experience representing the interests of others as a member of a board, and experience representing their views to government and other stakeholders.
Currently, over £400m is sitting in pensions that have been lost, and workers have an average of 11 jobs in a lifetime. That could mean 11 different pensions, which pensions dashboards will aim to ensure people throughout the UK can keep track of.
Chris Curry, principal of the pensions dashboards IDG, said: “I am pleased to be moving forward with the next step in the development of pensions dashboards in beginning recruitment for the steering group. Our aim is to have a group that incorporates the independent expertise of industry and consumer representatives who understand first-hand how people engage with their pensions.”
Applications close on August 26 with appointments announced in the early autumn. Further details about the criteria and application process can be found here.
