More than 40 million accounts have now been connected to the pensions dashboards central system, the Pensions Dashboards Programme (PDP) has announced.

With just over a year to go until the final statutory deadline for connection (31 October 2026), the organisation said the total represented more than half of all workplace and private pensions in scope of the project.

On top of this, the state pension has also been connected, “adding further tens of millions of pension records”, PDP said in an update.

“This helps lay the foundations for testing with real people looking at real pensions data,” it stated. “More pension providers and schemes continue to connect in line with guidance as we move towards the final connection deadline of 31 October 2026.”

All private sector pension schemes with more than 2,500 members should be connected by the end of this month, according to the government’s connection timetable.

We are looking forward to continuing to work with PDP to make pensions dashboards a reality, creating better outcomes for pension scheme members.

“Dashboards will be a game changer in helping savers to find their pensions and understand what their overall pension picture looks like.”
