Webb to address PW Leadership Summit
There are a handful of places left for PW’s seventh annual UK Leadership of Pensions Summit in London this Wednesday.
Steve Webb, pensions minister, will take the mid-morning slot and is expected to give an update of how auto-enrolment is progressing.
The event, which is being held at the Waldorf Hilton, will cover topics such as derisking and auto-enrolment, but will also feature a light-hearted and nostalgic round of the game show Blockbusters, but with a pensions twist. It will star Rob Gardner, co-chief executive officer at Redington, and Däna Burstow, partner at Allen & Overy.
Another highlight will be a debate on the hurdles standing in the way of collective defined contribution in the UK.
David Pitt-Watson, chair of Hermes Focus Asset Management, will argue in favour of CDC, while Jeremy Goodwin, partner at Eversheds will highlight the difficulties.
The day will conclude with a speech from FT economics editor Chris Giles.
